I was worried when I drove up to Harvest Moon and smelled the strong scent of sulphur down the street. I thought, "how is it possible that no one on Yelp mentioned that this place smells like a rotten egg?" And then, thank goodness, I saw (smelled?) why -- the odor stops well before the B&B. Phew! So don't fear if you are driving to New Holland and detect sulphur in the air, as it will not affect your stay at Harvest Moon. Our stay at Harvest Moon was exactly as Yelp characterizes a 3-star review: A-OK. Carl is a very nice innkeeper, and he had great suggestions for places to visit in town. The inn had a fun layout, and the breakfast each morning was good. I appreciated having snacks in the foyer. If you're a fan of B&Bs and Amish Country, this is a safe bet for a good price. I wish the mattress hadn't been so soft, because my back ached terribly throughout our stay. I also thought the decor was just a bit too much -- some editing would keep things cute instead of kitschy and over-decorated. The water pressure in the bathroom was sad, which I know is probably due to flow issues, but they make low-flow shower heads with good pressure now, so I think that'd be a good update. And the towels were no good -- old and rock-hard, in need of some bleaching and some fabric softener.

Carl the owner is so personable, helpful and friendly. He is also an excellent cook and we enjoyed the homemade breakfast he creates each day. My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely. I would recommend the Harvest Moon unconditionally!

What can I/we say? We have stayed here numerous times and are just in awe each one. The location is great - near our favorite arts and crafts spots in Lancaster, PA, the rooms are spacious and accomodating, and then there's the food and hospitality. Carl (and his family) are very welcoming and his cooking is over the top. He caters to gluten-free meals and they are to die for. There are also other gluten free restuarants in the area such as JB Dawsons, Good Eatz Cafe, Cafe Chocolate, Red Robin, Longhorn, and Outback. If you are looking for a quiet, cozy, enjoyable spot of your own, with great food, this is it!!!!

A great place. My wife and I stayed in the biggest room (I forget what its called) and it had the coolest balcony outside - you could sit there and watch the Amish buggies ride by. Even in the summer, you got a great breeze. And the food is outstanding. Carl had all kinds of advice on where to send us (including the smorgasboard [sp?] which was an overload on the senses but nonetheless an experience!). Fun area. Hopefully we'll be back.

We attended the cooking demo weekend, and absolutely enjoyed it! A bit too much food, perhaps, but we will manage that better next time we go. Met some new people, which was intended. Neat little town in Amish country with quaint drives around area. Wife did not mind the outlets just down the road.

This was a wonderful b and b. The owners were incredibly friendly with the right amount of advice and chatting and privacy. The husband is a trained chef so we woke up to fresh peach muffins with strusel and homemade French toast with a fresh fruit compote. Apples, chips and candy there for the taking. The house was completely comfortable and very reasonably priced. Some of the rooms share a bathroom but others have private ones. Higly highly recommended if you are touring Lancaster and Amish country.

We stayed here in the Macintosh room and did not like it at all. The room is in the back, near the noisy kitchen, not very bright and cheery. You have to go outside to get to the dining room for breakfast. I booked it when the rate was lower, but the owner forgot when I checked out, so I had to remind him. The owners were very nice and accommodating. I've since stayed down off RT 30 where there is more to do. I've been to B&B's many times in this area and off RT 30. I rate this at the bottom of the list.

Had a great stay at Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast. The rooms were super clean and spacious. The first floor room was great for my friend who has difficulty walking. Carl, the host, was attentive, and always available to assist us with all our needs. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I walked to the nearby farm to purchase brown eggs and local fruit and vegetables. There was plenty of freshly baked cookies and other goodies all around the house for the taking. We are already planning our next trip! Thanks Carl!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harvest Moon. Carl was a great host - there when you needed him, but never in the way. He was full of info on local restaurants and things to do. Best of all, he's a great cook! Breakfast on both mornings far surpassed our expectations, and he was even kind enough to share one of his recipes with me. We stayed in the Braeburn room, which was simple yet lovely. The bed was so comfy, like a big fluffy marshmallow. The fireplace was a nice bonus, as the upstairs was a little cool in the evening. We will definitely be going back!
